The king of funk presents a double-disced, beat-filled session of house.
Roger Sanchez is know for his funked out house wizardry. He's had number one hits before- "Another Chance" and the smash "You Can't Change Me". When he's not sauntering across the globe djing in New York, Australia or taking residency in Ibiza he's mixing down the hottest tracks for delicious compilations such as this one.
'Release Yourself-Volume 4' has been released on Stealth records and is the definitive CD gearing you up for one helluva summer.
Two discs are packed to the rafters with chilled funk, on the 'pre-party' CD and funked out house, on the 'party' disc.
Disc one leads you onto a balanced diet of slowed tempo tracks garnished with all the funky house trimmings. It kicks of with Mylo's Mix of 'Breathe Me' and the tunes continue with a Spanish feel with Louie Vega and Raw Artistic Soul providing the samba beat. This pre-party CD really works you up, with the last rack, Silicon Soul's 'Feeling Blue' building the aggression with a stroppy baseline still with the funk overtone
..now where's the party at?-
- It's right here. Disc two carries on where the last track left-off with Sueno Soul's 'Tempa Da Solo' and the heels begin to dig in with Deep N Dense's 'After Midnight'. The highlight of this disc is surely given to to 'La Noche' a guitar twanged piece of funk courtesy of Coca & Villa.
Its simple really, this is a party CD that takes no prisoners and is an ideal introduction into the summer's house offerings, underlining Mr Sanchez's knowledge of house funk and all things summer.
