The LOUD - Crescent Interview
I'm Wayne: singer, guitarist... innocent. Joey: the drums. Sean: bass guitar. Karl: lead guitar and backing singer.
So, how did it all begin? How long have you known each other and when did you start playing together?
Sean: "I was in the same class as him (Joey) at school, and there's no original members left with the band that started like, but we joined a band in school. There were five members in it, and us three were in it (Sean, Joey, Wayne), and then we done the circuits for a bit and all the rough boozers just playing when we were like 14 and 15. We just played everywhere, like, in Liverpool. Then we moved up a level and started playing all proper venues. Then after we'd been together for about two or three years, or maybe even longer... five years... Fucking hell, I never even liked them in the first week either."
What initially inspired you to take up a career in music in the first place?
Sean: "There's nothing else really to do round our way. It's either sell drugs or be a rock star, and I think this is the best one, like, you know what I mean?"
Was there one defining moment where you saw someone on telly and thought 'I can do that'?
Joey: "What made me join the band was watching 'Supersonic' by Oasis on The Chart Show, and I just thought 'I can do that'. Seeing someone who came from the same sort of background as us doing so well, and we want a piece of that as well." Sean: "We just wanted to do something like that, and we are, and we will."
